In-slab Underfloor Heating System
The in-screed underfloor heating system with clip rail fixing is a low-profile hydronic heating solution designed for installation within a cementitious screed layer above the structural slab. The system uses clip rails to securely hold the pipework in position, ensuring consistent spacing, precise layout, and stable installation throughout the entire floor area.
The pipes are fastened using clips. Once encased in the screed, the system delivers even and fast radiant heat distribution across the surface, providing high thermal comfort and efficient energy performance.
This method is particularly suitable for renovation and new build projects where reduced floor build-up height is required. It also allows for quicker heat response compared to full in-slab systems due to the reduced thermal mass above the pipes.
The clip rail installation ensures the pipework remains fixed during the screed pour, minimising movement and maintaining optimal design spacing for balanced hydraulic performance and uniform heat output across all zones.

The in-slab underfloor heating system is a high-performance radiant heating solution where hydronic pipework is embedded directly within the concrete slab. This allows the thermal mass of the slab to absorb, store, and gradually release heat, ensuring consistent and energy-efficient indoor comfort.
Heat is evenly distributed across the entire floor surface, eliminating cold spots and providing a stable ambient temperature. This system is particularly suitable for residential, commercial, and industrial applications where long-term efficiency and low operating costs are a priority.
For installations with polished concrete floors, it is recommended that the pipework is installed beneath the top steel reinforcement layer (underside of the top steel mesh). This positioning helps ensure optimal heat transfer to the surface while maintaining slab integrity and reducing the risk of surface temperature inconsistencies that could affect the finish quality of the polished floor.
This installation method also protects the pipework during the concrete pour and finishing process, while still allowing efficient thermal response and long-term durability of the system.
